So I decided to go ahead and make a bandolier to go with the journal for Kathy as well. I know, bandolier sounds so fancy, huh?
I don't have a sewing machine so I had to hand sew this thing myself. I spent all night sewing one for like 7 hours and I did not like it all. So I started and made a new one and learning from my mistakes from the first one I made this one in about 3 hours. I have lots of scrap fabric left over from costumes for the Renaissance faire and this one is a piece of fabric from my pirate wench corset.
As you can see there are 6 1" slots that you can use to fit your pens, pencils or anything slim I suppose. I'm thinking of making one for myself. It is fastened with a stretch band so you can easily slip it off and use it on another book, if you like. I think it's really neat, fun and useful.
Also this is not the journal for Kathy, I just used the planner I made for myself as an example so you can see how it works. I'm not an expert in hand sewing so the threading is not perfect like at all! I have no idea how people can hand sew straight.
