wanderlust 1

i love this book so much! i spent 2 weeks putting this one together. i was inspired by my best friend and lovely mother in law, vickey, for her love for wanderlustrous mermaids.

- covered with marble handmade paper-- reminded me of stormy clouds.
- blue specked handmade paper for the water.
- back cover features "wander" embossed and the ship: black suede lambskin, brown bark print lambskin and black embroidery floss for the rope/net.
- front cover features "lust" embossed and the mermaid: black lambskin for the hair, tan suede lambskin for her upper body and actually the back side of the tan suede is the sparkly green diamond finish lambskin for her tail.
- the spine is reinforced with braided hemp cord.
- red satin ribbon as a book mark ornamented with a mini retractable spotting scope and a joan rivers globe egg charm.
- sewed in the endbands for the first time using gold and white embroidery floss and failed miserably-- need more practice.
